• Background Information. 252,322 After the Pueblo Revolt, Isabel and Juan lived in San Lorenzo near El Paso. At this time, Isabel was a successful farmer & managed to raise enough food to support her family while her husband and the other men were occupied with defending the settlement.
She and her family returned to New Mexico in 1693 along with Don Diego de Vargas and they settled in Santa Fé
Isabel requested and was granted the land that belonged to her grandfather, Antonio Baca, south of the Santa Fe Plaza the river.
A 1697 census shows that Isabel was a window with six children living in Albuquerque.
Isabel was a poor widow living in Albuquerque at the age of 73 in 1733.
