• Background Information. 509 After the death of Leonor's first husband, Luis Durán y Chaves, Leonor married for a second time to Francisco de la Cruz de la Cadena, 1 Nov 1716 in Alburquerque. Her second husband, Francisco, was age fifty years old, "widowed of Ana de la Cruz, a Tesuque Indian buried two months" earlier in Santa Fé. At the time of her second marriage, Leonor was twenty-six, a native of El Paso del Norte, and widow of Luis Durán y Chaves who was buried in Alburquerque. Leonor was buried on 17 Nov 1762 after she died at the age of seventy. Francisco had preceded her.
