• Web Reference: Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands. Gwenynwyn succeeded his father, Owain ap Gruffydd, as Prince of Southern Powys. King John agreed to free "Wennuen filium Hoeni de Keneliac" in return for hostages by charter dated 8 Oct 1208 [Fœdera (1816), Vol. I, Part I, p. 101]. Gwenynwyn abdicated in 1215, and married Margaret Corbet, daughter of Robert Corbet of Caus & his wife --- (-after 15 Apr 1231). Eyton records her parentage and marriage but does not cite the corresponding primary source[Eyton, R. W. (1858) Antiquities of Shropshire (London), Vol. VII, p. 15].
Gwenwynwyn married Margaret Corbet, daughter of Sir Robert Corbet Lord of Caus and Emma Pantulf.1013 (Margaret Corbet was born about 1188 in Wattlesborough, Shropshire, England and died after 15 Apr 1231 1013.)
