• Web Reference: Dictionary of Welsh Biography. 1012 Owain Gwynedd, King of Gwynedd and second son of Gruffudd ap Cynan and Angharad, daughter of Owain ab Edwin, was married to Gwladus, daughter of Llywarch ap Trahaearn as his first wife, and he married as his second wife, Christina, his cousin, daughter of Gronw ap Owen ap Edwin. By Gwladus he had two sons, Iorwerth Drwyndwn and Maelgwn, and by Christina he had to more sons Dafydd and Rhodri. He had at least six other sons, of whom two, Hywel and Cynan, survived him and two daughters, Angharad, wife of Gruffydd Maelor I and Gwenllian, wife of Owain Cyfeilog.
