• Background Information. 252 Miguel Lucero, living in the Río Abajo, was already married to Angela Vallejo at the start of the century. Their children were Manuel, María, born December 1, 1708, and Miguel II, born on January 6, 1710, after the untimely death of his father, who was wounded at El Morro and died shortly after at Zuñi, June 15, 1709, when he was buried in the Mission's sanctuary, on the Epistle side. On December 8, 1710, his widow acted as sponsor with a Pedro Lucero, who could well be her brother-in-law, and one of the sons of old Nicolás Lucero de Godoy.
