• Background Information. 252 Miguel Lucero II made his last will at his home in Fuenclara, on January 20, 1766, being then Alcalde Mayor of Albuquerque. After naming his parents, Miguel Lucero and Angela Vallejo, he stated that he had been married to Rosa Baca for twenty-six years, and then to Antonia Chaves, widow of Baltasar de Beytia. Rosa Baca had died on June 29, 1755, at Tomé. Miguel had been Alcalde Mayor of Albuquerque already in 1763.
The children named in the will are as follows: By Rosa Baca: Josefita, Miguel, Manuel, Loreta (these four already married), Lugarda, Graciana, Mariano, and Ana. By Antonia Chaves: María de la Luz, María Bárbara, José, Antonio José, María Antonia, Tomás, and María Gertrudis. Miguel also mentioned his brother, Manuel Lucero. He died on January 25, 1766.
Of the above-named children, Manuel, born June 18, 1740, married Teresa Chaves of Los Padillas, and then a second cousin, Bárbara Montoya, of Atrisco. Lugarda married Francisco Silva, and then Pedro Bautista Pino in 1781, María Bárbara married Julián Rael in 1776, María de la Luz became the wife of Manuel Pacheco in 1771, Ana married Juan José Silva in 1769, and Mariano married Anamaría Silva in 1776.
