• Background Information. 599 Sir Gerard Braybrook married, as his first wife, Marget de Longeville, daughter and heiress of John de Longeville. Sire Gerard and Margaret had two sons, Gerard & Reginald, and one daughter, Joan. Sir Gerard Braybrook served as esquire to Edward "the Blace Prince" in Gascon (1355-1357) and in Spain (1367) at the Battle of Nájera.
Sire Gerard married a second time to Isabel de Meynell, widow of both Sir Thomas de Shirley and Sir John de Woodhull. Isabel was the daughter of Sir Hugh de Meynell, of Langley Meynell, Kirk Langley, Durbyshire and his second wife, Alice, daughter of Sir Nicholas de Audley. Sir Gerard and Isabella had one son, Ralph, and one daughter Nichole.
