Roger la Zouche died shortly before 14 May 1238. He married margaret, who was living in 1220 and 1232. In 1199, he paid £100 to have the land of his brother William. These lands were seized in 1204, following a rebellion by the Bretons as a result of King John's apparent involvement in the assassination of Arthur, Earl of Brittany, at Rouen on 3 Apr 1203. Roger offered 100 marks to regain his English lands. He served in Poitou in 1204, 1205 and 1214. He was in Ireland in 1210, and swore to support the Barons enforcing the Magna Carta in 1215. He was a witness to a royal charter on 11 Jun 1216 and he was rewarded by both John and his successor, Henry III, with numerous grants of lands.

He was granted a licensed on 6 Aug 1220 to go on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostells. He was sheriff of evonshire from 10 Nov 1228 - Apr 1231, and served in Britanny in 1230. He witnessed the confirmation of the Magna Carta by Henry III at Westminster, 28 Jan 1236/37.

Roger la Zouche was the heir of his older brother William. He paid £100 to have William's lands in 1199. Those, in England, were seized before 1204 while he was in Brittany due to war, and he proffered 100m. to regain possession of them in that year. He served the King in Poitou in 1204/05 and in 1214 as well as Ireland in 1210. He was a supporter of the Barons who were enforcing the Magna Charta in 1215. He soon joined King John, for he witnessed a royal charter, 11 Jun 1216, and was rewarded by both John and henry III with numerous grants of land.

Roger la Zouche had a license to go on pilgrimage to Santiago, 6 Aug 1220. In Oct 1224, he was a Royal messenger and Sheriff of Devon, 10 Nov 1228 to Apr 1231. He was among those who witnessed Henry III's confirmation of the Magna Carta at Westminister, 28 Jan 1236/37. His wife was named Margaret, who was living in 1229 and 1232. Roger la Zouche died shortly before 14 May 1238.

Roger married Margaret Biset, daughter of Henry Biset and Aubrey Fitz Richard. (Margaret Biset died after 1232.)
