Helen de Quincy

Noted events in her life were:
• Background Information. 141 Sir Alan le Zouche married sometime before 1242 to Ellen, the 3rd daughter and coheir of roger de Quincy, 2nd Earl of Winchester, Constable of Scotland and his first wife, Helen, coheir of Alan, Lord of Galloway, Constable of Scotland. During a lawsuit against John de Warenne, he was violently assaulted by John de Warenne before the Justices in Westminster Hall on the Octave of St. John (1 July) 1270. He died 10 Aug 1270 from the wounds he recieved from John de Warenne. His widow recieved Brackley and was patron of the Hospital there. She died shortly before 20 Aug 1296.

Helen married Sir Alan le Zouche Lord Zouche, Baron of Ashby, son of Roger la Zouche Sheriff of Devonshire and Margaret Biset. (Sir Alan le Zouche Lord Zouche, Baron of Ashby was born about 1203 in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, England and died in 1270.)
