Patric de Bunbury

According to the most accepted pedigrees of the Bunbury, their first ancestor of that name was one of the descendants in the male line of St. Pierres of Normandy. The St. Pierres are said to have borne the arms with Argent, a bend Sable, and this is the foundation of the somewhat later Bunbury arms, Argent, on a bend Sable, three chess-rooks of the first. Even though David de Boneberi, younger brother of Henry de Boneberi, living during the reign of Stephen, is reputed to have sealed with a lion passant. David's grandson, Patrick de Bunbury, living during the reign of Henry III, according to Ormerod, bore th St. Pierre coat. Patrick was the father of Alexander de Bunbury, living A. D. 1230.

Pedigree of the Bunbury Family, confirmed by William Dugdale in the Visitation of 1663, Patric de Bunbury, married to a woman named Clemence was the son of an unknown son of David de Boneberi. He was the father of Alexander de Bunnebury.

Humphrey de Bonebury left no male issure, so his inheritance went to to of his daughters, Ameria and John. Ameria's moiety descended to the Patricks (they were underage in the custody of most likely their uncle, Robert Patrick), and Joan's went to her kinsmans, Alexander de Bonbury. The family continued with Alexander's son, Patric de Bonebury, the great grandson to David de Bonebury, or Bunbury.
