Noted events in his life were:
• Background Information. 141 John Lovel, Lord Lovel, son and heir (posthumous), was born about September 1314, being said to be 32 and more in September 1346. Though he was still under age in January 1332/3, the manor of Titchmarsh was delivered to him, at a rent of £40 a year, and in May the King took his homage and he had livery of the rest of his lands. In the same year he took part in a tournament at Dunstable. In the following year and in 1335 he was going to Scotland on the King's service. In 1344 he went overseas in the King's service with Henry of Lancaster . He took part continuously in the French campaign, 1346-47, under the Earl of Warwick, and fought in the great victory of Crécy.
John Lovel married, in or before 1340, Isabel, said to be sister of William ZOUCHE, of Haringworth. He died 3 November 1347, three months after the fall of Calais. Isabel died 2 July 1349.
