Torres Families that appear in the Censuses of 1833 & 1845 Socorro and Surrounding Communities of the Río Abajo 256
I am a descendant of Diego de Torres through at least three sons if not four, as well as to Diego's sister, María de Torres who was married to Antonio Salazar. These Torres/Salazar families were among the first Spanish settlers whowere part of the Belén Land Grant. I highlighted my ancestors on this census, and tried to connect these people with as many Torres people who lived in New Mexico during the Spanish Colonial and Mexican periods as possible. I will continue to add to Torres people in the future. Some of the same people will appear on two or more of the above censuses.
