John le Strange, Lord Strange of Blackmere, son and heir on his father's death. On 1 Aug 1325, the wardship of his father's land was committed to him upon payment of 400£ yearly. On 26 Feb 136/7, he had proved his age and done homage, and was to have seisin. He was summoned to Parliment from 23 Oct (1330) 4 Edw. III to Apr (1344) 18 Edw. III by writs directed to Johanni Lestraunge and on 1 Jan and 10 Mar (1348/8) 23 Edw III by writs directed Johanni Lestraunge de Blakemere. In 1337, described as of Blanouster (Whitchurch) he was executor of the will of his cousin Ebles Lestrange. In 1332, and thereafter, he was in commissions for Salop. In 1346, he accompanied the King to Normandy and was in Crecy and Calis.

John le Strange married Ankaret, daughter of William Boteler, of Wem, Salop, and sister and coheir of Edward Boteler. John died 21 Jul 1349. Ankaret survived him and apparently married, as her second husband, Sir Thomas de Ferrers. Ankaret died 8 Oct. 1361.

John married Ankaret le Boteler, daughter of William le Boteler Baron le Botlier and Ela de Herdeburgh. (Ankaret le Boteler was born about 1306 in Wem, Shropshire, England and died on 8 Oct 1361 in England ¹⁴¹.)
