Deacon John Heywood was the third child of John Heywood the emigrant. John, Jr. was born in Concord, Massachusetts, 5 Apr 1662, where he also settled and lived. He died there 2 Jan 1718. In 1676, he was a constable. He was keeper of an ordinary at Concord in his later years. He married a woman named Sarah, and their children were:

• He died.
John Heywood died on 2 Jan 1717 from an epidemic that swept Concord. He was a Deacon of the Church. He kept an ordinary, or inn, probably the same one as his father. The land on what is now Thoreau Street, was in the hands of the Heywood Family until the early 1800s.
