• Background Information. 1232 William Troutbeck was knighted and resided at Brynes Castle in Errall. He married Margaret, daughter to Thomas Lord Stanly of Codnor, and was slain at Bloreheath in 1459. Margaret, his widow, married again to Lord Grey. Sir William and Margaret had issue of three sons and three daughters. Their eldest son was named William and married Jonna, daughter of Robert Moleneus. The second son was Adam, who married Margerie, daughter of Sir John Butler, and they had one daughter named Margaretta, who married Sir John Talbot of Grafton. Their third son was Robert Troutbeck, fahter of Mary who married Edmond Denny, Baron of the Exchequer.

• Background Information. 713,1233 Sir William Troutbek, knight and heir, aged 24 years old when his mother died in 35 Hen. VI, and ob. 2 Edw. IV, buried in the Troutbeck Chapel, at St. Mary's in Chester, Inq.p.m. 38 & 39 Henrey VI. He married Margaret, daughter of Thomas Lord Stanley. The children of Sir William and Margaret given by Ormerod are Sir William, son and heir married to Joan, daughter of Sir John Botiller (divorced) & married 2ndly Margaret, daughter of T. Houghington of Leighton; Adam, second son, married to Margaret, daughter of Sir John Butler, of Brewsey: Rober. who married and had 3 daughters living 2 Henry 8; Alice; Jane, wife of William Butler of Bewsey, and 2ndly to William Griffith, Knight, Chamberlain of North Wales; and Elizabeth, wife of Sir Alexander Houghton of Houghton Tower.
