• Background Information. 1173 Sir Anthony's mother, was Mary, eldest daughter and co-heir of Robert Troutbeck, Esq., of Trafford, Cheshire, who was nephew to Thomas Stanley, Earl of Derby, and Margaret, his Countess, mother of King Henry VII, and was also great-grandson of Elizabeth Duchess of Norfolk, whose mother and father were great-grandchildren, one of King Edward I, and the other of his brother Edmond Plantagent, Earl of Lancaster. Mary Troutbeck, Lady Denny, was a cousin of two Queens of Henry VIII, namely, Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard.

• Background Information. 1232 Robert Troutbeck of Trafford was the third son of Sir William Troutbeck and Margret, daughter of Thomas Lord Stanley of Coddnor. The name of Robert Troutbeck's wife is unknown, but they had three daughters, Mary, Elizabeth and Alice. Mary married Edmond Denny, Baron of the Exchequer, of Chesthunt, co. Herts, from whom the Dennies of Norfolk descended. Elizabeth married Thomas Crew of Hot; and Alice married Hugh Hunter of Churton.

• Background Information. 713,1233 Give a son of Sir William Troutbek and Margaret Stanley as either Thomas or Robert who had three daughters. The Journal of the Architectural, Archaeological and Historic Society For the County, City and Neighbourhood of Chester, Volume I, has a corrected version of the Troutbeck pedigree that names this son as Robert.
