Sir Henry de Erdington, of Erdington in Aston parish, co. Warwick, Shawbury, Salop, Corfe Mullen, Dorset, Barrow-on-Soar, co. Leicester, and Olney, Bucks, was the 2^nd son of Sir Henry Erdington, of Erdington, Shawbury, Corfe Mullen, &c. (who d. shortly before 26 Mar 1282), by Maud, 4^th daughter of Sir Roger de Somery, of Dudley, co. Worcester. Sir Henry was born about 1274. The King took his homage, and he had livery of his father's lands, 21 July 1295. He had livery of those of his mother, 9 July 1302, on the death of his stepfather, Sir William Bifeld, who had held the same by the courtesy of England. He was knighted by the Prince of Wales, 22 May 1306, at Westminster, Knight of the Shire for co. Leicester, 1309. He was summoned for Military Service from May (1297) 25 Edw. I to 28 July (1317) 11 Edw. II, to a Council, May (1324) 17 Edw. II, and to Parliament, 22 Jan. (1335/6) 9 Edw. III, by writ directed Henrico de Erdyngton', whereby he is held to have become Lord Erdington. Henry married, before June 1315, Joan, daughter and coheir of Sir Thomas de Wolvey, of Wolvey, co. Warwick, by Alice, his wife. Henry was living in 1341/2.

Henry de Erdington, son of Henry de Erdington and Maud de Someri, succeeded to the family estates. In 1314, he was one of the commissioners appointed to inspect the troops under orders for the Scottish expedition, in accordance with the stature of Winchester. During the troublesome close of King Edward II's reign, he was again commissioned on an inquiry as to what persons kept armed retainers in the country.

Henry married Joan, daughter and heir of Sir Thomas de Wolvey, of Wolvey in the country of Warwick. He founded the south aisle of Aston Church, commonly called the Erdington Chapel. Henry died about 1330. His daughter married Hugh de Holte, of Birmingham, progenitor of the Holte family. His son and heir was Sir Giles de Erdinton.
