~Ormerod's History of the County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol. II, p. 395, Pedigree of the Bunbury Family, confirmed by William Dugdale in the Visitation of 1663, begins with a ______ de St. Pierres, a younger brother of the house of St. Pierre in Normandy. His two sons were Henry and David de Bonebreri. 713
Noted events in his life were:
• Information. 917 According to the most accepted pedigrees of the Bunbury, their first ancestor of that name was one of the descendants in the male line of St. Pierres of Normandy. The St. Pierres are said to have borne the arms with Argent, a bend Sable, and this is the foundation of the somewhat later Bunbury arms, Argent, on a bend Sable, three chess-rooks of the first. Even though David de Boneberi, younger brother of Henry de Bonebert, living during the reign of Stephen, is reputed to have sealed with a lion passant. David's grandson, Patrick de Bunbury, living during the reign of Henry III, according to Ormerod, bore th St. Pierre coat.
