Richard, married Anne, daughter and coheir of William Praers, of Badleleighe, Cheshire, by his wife Letitia, one of the heirs of William Wittenhall, of Cholmeston, in Cheshire, by whom he had John, his son and heir, who married Margery, daughter of Sir Thomas Massey, of Tatton, also in Cheshire, Knight, by whom he had issue Thomas, Edward, Ralph, who all died without issue, and William who married Margaret, daughter and heir of Ralph Manwaring, of Badilegh, and left issue Sir John de Bromley, Knight, who departed this life, in 3 Henry VII, leaving, by Joan his wife, daughter and heir of William Hexstall, three daughters his coheirs.

• Background Information. 713
Richard Bromley, son of William de Bromlegh of Batynton and Annabel, is called "one of the most active, and perhaps able, men of his time" by Ormerod in The History of County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol III, p. 369. Richard frequently occurs in the Rolls, and was a grantee of £10 annunity from King Richard. Richard Bromley served henry IV in the Scottish Wars, and was commissioned with William le Roter to elect archers and repair with them Newcastle on Tyne in order to resist a trheatened invasion of the Scots, Jul 1401. Richard Bromley died 10 Henry IV ( 30 Sep1408-29 Sep 1409).

Richard increased the Cheshire property of his family by marring Agnes, daughter of William Praers, chamberlain of Chester, descended from a collateral line of the Praers family of Baddiley. His second wife, Cicely, widow of Richard del Mere, and sole heir of Richard le Grosvenour of Budworth, by whom he left no issue.
