Henry made considerable additions to the family estates, having obtained from Elias de Pendlebury lands, with a tenement thereon called Gildehusestide. From Gospatric de Chorlton, or Cherletona, as it was then written, he obtained a grant of a fourth part of the hamlet of Chorlton. He also obtained ands near the river Medlock from Adam de Chetham, and other in Aldehulme from Matthew Fitz Gulielim. He died about 1130 and was suceeded by his son, also named Henry.

5. Hamon de Mascy to Henry son of Robert de Trafford. Gift, for his homage and service, of one bovate of land of grantor's demesne in Stretford, which William son of Robert held, to hold to him and his heirs of grantor and his heirs at a rent of 2s., with quittance of the service of a doomsman, which js to be performed by another tenant. Witnesses: Robert de Penulbury, Adam his son, Geoffrey de Burfun ?], Adam de Aston, Hugh de Mascy, Robert his son, Alan de Taton, Henry de Aston, Hugh de Stretford, William de Radeclive, Alexander de Pilkinton, Richard the clerk of Manchester. 6. Gospatric de Cherelton (on the seal, Chorltun) to Henry son of Robert son of Ralph de Traford. Gift, for his homage and service, of one fourth of Cherelton, to wit four bovates of land, two which Randolph held, one which Steinuulf held, and one which Robert son of Edwin held, to hold to him and his heirs of grantor and his heirs at a rent of 5/. 7. Elias son of Robert de Penelbury to Henry son of Robert son of Ralph de Trafford. Gift, for his homage and service, of the whole land of Gildehusestide, (metes and bounds,) partaking in all liberties which the free men of Matthew son of William his lord have by charter, at a rent of 4/. to grantor and is. to the said lord and his heirs, who shall have a right of way to carry hay through the said land. Witnesses: Richard son of Henry, Robert de Burun, Richard de Perepont, William de Radeclive, Alexander son of Gilbert de Harewode, Henry son of Geoffrey de Mamecestre, Peter de Burnhil, Alexander de Pilkinton, Matthew de Redich, Hugh de Stretford, Adam de Ormeston, Robert son of Hugh de Mascy, Richard the clerk of Manchester. One of the Harleian Manuscripts [No. 2077, folio 292] mentions the family arms thus:-Trafford A(rgent), a Griffin Srgeant, G(ules), and continues with the following statement:-

"(h) Henery Sonne of Robt Sonne of Rafe de Trafford soe stiled in all deeds; he liued in K.H: I. tyme about 1130 and phaps died not before K. Stephens tyme, abt 1150.
(i) Henery his Sonne by this Stile recd from Heleas de Pendlebercie [sic] in Gildhusteeds [Rusholme], for (from) Gospatricius de Chorleton in Chorleton, fro D. Ham' de Mascy in Stretford, &c.
(k) Henry de Trafford Sonne of Henery Liued in the End of K. Stephens raigne, of H. 2d, and Richd. ye first, vntill a0 1190-1200.
(l) Richard de T. Sonne of Henery a° Jo. Rx was first Lord of Stretford, hee receaued Lands from Hamond de Mascy and Margery his Daughter the Widdow of [blank] Payne of Eckburne viz' the Lordsp. of Stretford als Stretford (sic) to bee houldin of Wm de ferrers Earle of Darby about ye yeare 1220.
and Richard fitz Ade de vrmeston gaue Lands in Stretford &c.
(m) Hee gaue his Lands in Trafford Stretford &c. to Henry his Eldest Sonne, to Geffrey his younger Sonne Chatterton and fox Denton in ouldham pish."
