Father bernal forwarded the proceedings to Durango in June 1804. On 2 Aug 1804, Vicar General Milán Rodrigues, noted the impediment of the reasons given pro scandalo anjusti loci, honestis familiis, and the great distance between New México and Durango. He granted dispensation.

María Antonia Montoya, 20, the was legitimate daughter of Feliciano Montoya and María de la Trinidad García. Chaves informed Father Álvarez that he and María Antonia were related in the fourth degree of affinity. Francisco and María Antonia were life-long residents of the Belén area. She had her parents' permission to marry.
