When Nicolás de Aguilar came to New México, he married Catalina Márquez, daugther of Francisco Márquez and María Núñez of Santa Fé. They had four children named Gerónima, María, Ysabel and Nicolás. Those who stayed in New México took their mother's name, Márquez.

María, the second daughter Juan Rodriguez Bellido and his wife Ysabel, was married to Francisco Márquez.

Catalina married Nicolas de Aguilar, son of Pedro de Aguilar and Ysabel de Villagómez.²⁵² (Nicolas de Aguilar was born about 1627 in Yurirapundaro, Michoacan, Nueva España ²⁵² and died after 1666 in Nueva España ²⁵².)
