Ida Longespée was the daughter of William Longespée and Ela of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Henry II, the King of England and his mistress named Ida. She first married Ralph de Somery, of Little Linford and Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Ralph de Somery was the son and heir of Ralph de Somery, baron of Dudley, Staffordshire and Margaret the daughter of John Fitz Gilbert a.k.a. John le Marshal. They had no issue, and Ida married a second time about Jan 1229, as a second wife to Sir William de Beauchamp, knight, baron of Bedford, Baron of Eschequer, Sheriff o Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, hereeditary Grand Almoner at the coronation of King Henry III, and son and heir to Simon de Beauchamp.
