Herman married Gerberga of Burgundy, the widow of Hermann Graf von Werl and daughter of Conrad I "le Pacifique" King of Burgundy & his second wife Mathilde de France (Carolingian). "The Annales Einsidlenses record the death in 997 of "Chuonradus dux" and the succession of "Herimannus filius eius in ducatum" [Annales Einsidlenses 997, MGH SS III, p. 144]. Herimannus names "filiam Counradi regis Burgundiæ, Gerbirgam" as wife of "Herimannus dux" [Herimanni Augiensis Chronicon 998, MHG SS V, p. 118]. The necrology of Fulda records the death "1003 IV Non Mai" of "Herman dux" [Annales Necrologici Fuldenses, MGH SS XIII, p. 123].
Herman married Gerberga de Bourgogne, daughter of Konrad I "le Pacifique" Roi de Bourgogne and Mathilda Princesse des Francs.160 (Gerberga de Bourgogne was born in 965 in Bourgogne and died before 1033 160.)
