According to the Yorkshire Archeological Journal, Vol. XIX, p. 55, Uctred's first wife, Egfrida, was the mother of Eadulf, Gospatric and Aldred. Egrida married, as her second husband, Kilvert, a Yorkshire thane and son of Ligulf.

• Background Information. 1476 Sigrida, wife of Arkill and mother of Gospatric, was the daughter of the Yorkshire thane, Kilvert, son of Ligulf. She had been the wife of another Arkill, son of Fridgist, and also of earl Eadult. She was the granddaughter of bishop Aldun.

• Background Information. 1477 Carlton was one of the vills given by Bishop Aldhun with his daughter Egfrida to Uctred son of Earl Waltheof. Uctred afterwards repudiated her, and she married a Yorkshire thegn, Kilvert son of Ligulf, by whom she had a daughter Sigrid. She was again repudiated, and became a nun. Sigrid married Arkil, who, after her death, restored Carlton to the bishopric [Simeon of Dur. Opera (Rolls Ser.), i, 215-20].
