Rose, wife of Sir John d'Oyly, Lord of Raunton, was the daughter and by death of her brother, coheir of Sir William de Duston, Lord of Duston, Northamptonshire, and Raunton, Staffordshire. She was in the wardship to Walter de Grey, Archibishop of York. She died cir. 1298.

William Dunston, or Duston, who was Lord of Duston and Weekly, Northamptonshire, was Lord of Faunton by feoffe of Thomas Noell, and was never married to Thomas's daughter Joan. Joan had only one husband, Roger Fitz Eustace Fitz Stephen. William Dunston also held lands of Thomas Noell in Shropshire [Eyton's Ant. Shropsh., v. iii, p.136],.

This William Dunston died in 1218, leaving a son, also named William, who died without issue in 1231, and three daughters who became coheirs to their brother William. Of these, Isabella, the eldest married Walter de Grey, Lord of Rotherfield, and had Duston, and two-thirds of her father's estate at Ditton in Kent for her share. Rose, the second daughter, married Sir John d'Oyly, Knight; and the youngest named Joane, married Mauger le Vavasour, to whom she brought Weekly and a third of Ditton.
