Sir Thomas Darcy, K.G., born about 1467, created first Lord Darcy, of Temples Hurst, beheaded 30 Jun 1537, attainted of high treason and his peerage forfeited, married as his first wife, Dowsabel Tempest, who died between 1503 and 1520, daughter of Sir Richard Tempest, of Giggleswick, co. York, and Mabel Strickland, daughter of Walter Strickland .

• Background Information. 1405 Walter Strickland Esq., son of Sir Thomas married in 1426 to Douce daughter of Sir Nicholas de Croft. In the year of King Henry VI, he was granted the office of keeper of the Royal Park at Calgarth, and in the next year the King appointed him Receiver General in and about Kendal.
