• Background Information. 141 After the death of Margery's first husband, William de Ros, her marriage was granted, Mar 1342/3, to Robert de Ferrers, and dower assigned to her in Apr. Her second husband, by Royal License, 6 Mar 1350/1 to marry whom she would of the King's allegiance, was Sir Thomas de Arundel, who was killed apparently, in a disturbance at Cockfield Suffolk. She married as her 3rd husband, and as his 3rd wife, Sir John Avenal, the King's Lieutenant in Brittany, 1353-1355, from whom she was suing for a divorce in Apr 1355. He died in Brittany circa 1 Aug 1359, and she died shortly before 22 Oct 1363.
