• Background Information. 821 Maud de Swynnerton first married Sir Humphrey Pehale, knight, son and heir apparent to richard de Peshale, Knight of Chetwyn Shropshire. They had on son named Richard before Humphrey died before 1388. She was abducted, 8 Dec 1388, and forced to marry Sir William Ipstones, son and heir of Sir John de Ipstones and Elizabeth, daughter and heir of Thomas Corbet. They had two daughters, Christine and Alice. Sir John died in Oct 1399, and Maud married for a third time, Sir John de Savage, son of John Savage and Margaret, daughter of Thomas Daniers. They had five sons, John, William, Arnold, George and Roger. They also had three daughters, Margaret the wife of John Dutton, Maud the wife of Sir Thomas Booth and Mary.
