• Background Information. 970 John de Bulli, born 1145/6, married before 1165/5 when he was twenty-one years of age. He succeeded to the estates in 1180 with the payment shown in the Pipe Rolls. He built Buley Castle about 1200, and the caslte of Scarborough was committed to him in 1201. he succeeded to his mother's lands in Berks and Warenford, 1201/2. He died in or before 1213.

Eraldus de Busli had a brother named Roger & a sister named Beatrix | Jordan de Busli | John de Busli | Idonea de Busli married Robert de Vipont, died 12 Hen. II | John de Vipont, ob. 25 Hen. III married Isabel, sister and co-heir of Richard FitzJohn | Isabel de Vipoint, elder of two daghter and co-heirs, married 52 Hen. III to Roger son and heir of Roger lord Clifford, who had in her right large possessions in the wapentake of Stafford and Tickhill. She had a younger sister, Idonea de Vipont who married 1st, Roger de Leyburne, and 2nd John de Crumbewell, who had in her right the manor of Kimberworth.
• Background Information. 1116 Essendine passed to Rose's daughter Cecily, wife of John de Builli, son of Richard de Builli founder of Roche Abbey. Cecily had two daughters, Joan the wife of Thomas Gravenel, and Idonea the wife of Robert de Vipont [Maitland, loc. cit.; Blore, op. cit. 14]. Essendine went to Idonea, and she and her husband had livery of the lands in 1213.
