Pedro Bautista Pino did not always use the "Bautista" part of his name early in his career, hence it is sometimes difficult to distinguish him from his brother, Pedro José, also referred to simply as "Pedro," until the latter's death about the year 1781. Pedro Bautista resided at the Rancho de San Clemente near Isleta when he married Manuela Gabaldón in Santa Fe, 24 Dec 1772. He was assistant Alcalde of Laguna in 1780 when he acted as godfather for a child of his brother Pedro José. His first wife died within a decade after bearing the following daughters: María Vicenta, November 1, 1773; María Gertrudis, 9 Jul 1775; and the twins, María Barbara and María de la Luz, at Tomé, 3 Sep 1778. María Barbara married Isidro Antonio Baca of Belen at Santa Fe in 1793. Another daughter, María Rita, married Juan Dionisio Baca, 11 Oct 1785.

On 30 Sep1781, Pedro Pino, widowed of Manuela Gabaldón, son of the deceased Don Mateo Pino and Tomasa (Teresa) Sánchez, married Lugarda Lucero, widow of Francisco Silva. The marriage took place in Santa Fe, though both parties gave Tomé as their residence. They were third cousins. They were still living at Tomé in 1790, when he gave his age as thirty-eight and Lugarda's as thirty-seven. They had five sons, twenty-two, eighteen, sixteen, nine, and seven, respectively; and four girls, thirteen, ten, eight, and three. But in 1786 they were living in Santa Fe, when they went to Tomé to act as sponsors for a grandchild. At this period he held offices in Santa Fe or acted as an attorney. Lugarda Lucero, "married first to Francisco Silva, and then to Don Pedro Bautista Pino," died on 8 Mar 1813, leaving eight children.

Some children by her were:

Juan Esteban, 29 Dec 1782, who married Nicolása Troncoso; María Gertrudis, 5 Jul 1786, who as the widow of Maríano Duran became the third wife of Juan Rafael Ortiz in 1816; and Juan Francisco, 22 Aug 1788.

Pedro Bautista Pino then married María Baca, with a dispensation, on 24 Mar 1816. Known children of this marriage were: María Guadalupe de la Trinidad, 16 May 1818; Nicolás de Jesús, 4 Dec 1819, who married Juana Rascón in 1842 ; Miguel Estanislao, 6 May 1821, who married María de la Luz Ortiz, 31 Dec 1842 ; and José Facundo, 27 Nov 1823.

Pedro Bautista is best known for his being the first and only Deputy from New Mexico to the Spanish Cortes in 1810, when he composed an "Exposition" concerning New Mexico for the Court of Madrid. His brother Joaquin, during a land dispute at Pajarito in 1821, still boasted of his brother Pedro Bautista who had been the "Sr. Diputado en Cortes."
