• Background Information. 509 Mateo Pino was the executor of his brother, José Joaquín's estate. Mateo was also the father of María Bárbara's three children before she married his brother Joaquín.
Mateo José Pino was married twice in New Spain. First to María Josefa Mantilla in 1740. She also used the name Luna. He married, as his next wife, María Ana Antonia Méndez in 1742. María Ana Médez had a son, Pedro José who married María Josefa Cabaalero.

• Background Information. 252 Mateo José Pino, executor of his brother Joaquín's will, turned down the assignment after his brother died, and sued the Sánchez in-laws, complaining about the poverty of his own large family. In 1752, referred to as a native of Mexico City, he had been suggested as a candidate for High Sheriff of the Holy Office in New Mexico.
His wife was Teresa Sánchez, presumably a sister of Joaquín's wife, Bárbara. They had several children: Pedro José, Pedro Bautista, Joaquín Mariano, Mariano Antonio, born February 6, 1752; Juan Francisco, March 19, 1753 ; Alejandro Ricardo, April 7, 1756, and Carlos Casimiro, baptized on December 15, 1761.
Their mother, Teresa Sánchez, died on November 28, 1761, in childbirth evidently, and their father then married María Concepción Roybal, who bore him two children: Francisco Maríano, February 6, 1769, and María Josefa Andrea, December 8, 1763.
