Diego González Bernal

Noted events in his life were:
• Background Information. 252 Diego Gonzalez Bernal was Alcalde Mayor of San Marcos Pueblo in 1661, "Provincial de la Hermandad" as well as Regent and Procurator General of the Kingdom. In 1663, as Alcalde Mayor of the large Pueblo of Galisteo, he wrote to Governor Mendizábal against the friars, and so might be the Diego González. In that year he fled to New Spain. He and his brother Antonio are often mentioned together.
Diego's wife was Felipa Jiménez García, still living as a widow in 1687 ; she was the daughter of a certain Juan Jiménez. Which of the González Bernal individuals of the next generation were their children is hard to say.
