Pedro López Gallardo was born in Querétaro, the son of Pedro López and Antonia Gallardo, a native of Mexico City. May 30 May 1694, young Pedro married Sebastiana Martín (DM, 1694, no. 35). They had a son, Gerónimo, at Santa Cruz, 12 Nov 1711.

Santa Fé, 1769, Gerónimo López states in his will that he was the son of "Pedro Lopes Gallardo and Sebastiana Martín." He names his wife, whom he was married to for 33 years, to be María Gertrudes Montaño, with whom he had twelve children, with two of the twelve childred decesed (María de la Luz and José Pablo. The remaining children, still living, were Blas, María, Francisca, Juan Martín, Santiago, Juan Rosalíam Antonio Juan Ygnacio, Ana María, Marí Gerónima and José Pablo.

Gerónimo married María Gertrudis Montaño, daughter of Lucas Montaño and María Juana Anaya Almazán, on 25 Aug 1737 in Villa de Santa Fé, Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.³⁹² (María Gertrudis Montaño was born about 1714 in Santa Cruz de la Cañada, Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.)
