Domingo Martín Serrano was married to Josefa de Herrera. A witness in 1694, he declared he was born in Santa Fé, giving his age as forty-seven in that year, and a eighty in 1726. He died at the age of ninety on February, 27 1735.

His known children are Diego, who married Pascuala de Soto at Santa Cruz in 1694; María, wife of Juan Luján; Blas, who married Rosa de Vargas Machuca in 1705; and Matías, hasband of Josefa Luján Domínguez. According to Origins of New Mexico Families, p. 373, Domingo was Luís Martín Serran's brother, not his son.

He escaped the Pueblo Revolt of 1680, and returned to New Mexico with his family in 1693 as part of the Diego de Vargas group of settlers.

Domingo Martín, married to Josefa Herrera, with eight children, named Diego, age twenty-two, Matías, sixteen; Miguel, nine; Blas, six; Sebastiana, thirteen; María, twelve; Juana, fourt; and Bárbar, nuring; and his mother-in-law, named Juana de los Reyes. He states that, as his majesty's loyal vassal, he will go to settle with his family, if there is provisioning for it.

Domingo Martín Serrano was the son of Luis and the grandson Of Capitán Hernán Martín Serrano who came to New Mexico with Juan de Oñate. He was born in New Mexico and was described as having "a long face, thick beard, long black hair. He died sometime before 27 Feb 1735, at which time he was buried in la Cañada. His first wife was Josega de Herrera, a native New Mexico and daughter of Juana de los Reyes. Josefa was alive 1714 but had died by 1725. Domingo and Josefa had lived in excile in Coprpus Christi del Isleta in 1690, but came back to New Mexico with the Diego de Vargas resettlement. Besides the children listed here, they had a daughter named María Martín, born about 1683; Juana Martín, born about 1688 & the mother to at least one natural child, María Martín; Bárbara Martín, born abt 1692 but was deceased by 1697; a second María who may have been the Ana María Martín who married Sebastián Durán.
