• Background Information. 141 Hamon Pecche, son and heir, was a minor at his father's death, his custody and marriage being granted, 1 January 1212/3, to Hugh de Boues. He appears to have reached man's estate in time to be associated with his family connections in the armed opposition of the Barons to John. In 1221 he did his service in the campaign against Biham, and served under the Earl Marshal in the Welsh war of 1223, receiving in September 1225 a grant to maintain himself in the King's service. He was crossing the sea on duty for the King in 1230, and had protection to visit his lands abroad in 1232. In 1233 he was serving in the Welsh Marches. Later he went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, on which he died, probably in the summer of 1241. Hamon Pecche married Eve, a foreigner, who survived him.
