Information about this person:
• Background Information. 141 Henry Tyeys, son and heir, was a minor in 1284, when he had succeeded to the Foliot estates. He served in Wales in 1287 and 1292, was exempt from service in Gascony in 1294, and was summoned for service across the seas and to Flanders in 1297 and against the Scots, 1299-1306. He was also summoned to attend the King on urgent business in 1294 and was called to a milita Council before Edward, the King's son, September 1297. In March 1296/7 he was appointed to answer for the surrender of the clergy in Hants; and on 22 August in the same year he was among the supporters of the Earls of Norfolk and Hereford, when they appeared before the Exchequer to protest against the King's actions. He fought in the vanguard at the battle of Falkirk, 22 Jul 1298, and was present at the siege of Carlaverock, July 1300. He was summoned to Parliament from 6 Feb 1298/9 to 26 Aug 1307, by writs directed Henrico Tyeys, whereby he is held to have become Lord Tyeys.
Henry Tyeys married, before 1285, Hawise. He died shortly before 8 Oct 1307 and was probably buried at Chilton Foliat. His widow died circa 1322.
