~Cokayne's Complete Peerage, 2nd Edition, Vol. V, p. 190, "The Heirs of Everingham," shows Joan, Lady of Everingham and Wetborough, age 8 in 1370/1, 25+ in 1387/8 and living 15 Sep 1399. Her first husband was Sir William Elys who died between 10 Oct 1391 and 31 Oct 1391. Her second husband is shown as Robert Waterton, of Methley, who died 17 Jan 1424/5. 141

• Background Information. 141 Lionel de Welles married, 1stly, 15 Aug 1417, at St. Oswald's, Methley, co. York, Joan (or Cecily), daughter and (eventually, in her issue) heir of Robert Waterton, of Methley, by Joan, widow of Sir William Ellis, of Kiddal, co. York, daughter of William de Everingham, of Laxton, co. Nottingham. She (described as Joan), who was living, 18 Oct 1434, was buried in the Waterton chapel at Methley.
