Sir Nicolas & Amicia Tuit had issue of Sir Nicholas Baron of Carru & Mullesford. This Nicholas was summoned by writ in King Edward I time. He married Amicia, sister of Sir John Peverell of Ermyngton, by whom he had Weston Peverell as aforesaid, and some times dwelled in this shire at his pleasure. This Sir Nicholas had issue Sir John, Thomas, Nicholas and William. From Nicholas, the family of Carew of Beddington, in Surrey descends.

In 1338 [Cal. Pat. 1338-40, p. 154] a pardon with a fine of 100s. was given to Thomas de Morle for acquiring the manor of Beddington from Thomas Corbet son of the younger Thomas without royal licence, and in 1345 [Ibid. 1343\endash 5, p. 376] Richard de Wylughby and Elizabeth his wife had to pay another 100s. fine for entering on the manor without licence on purchase from Thomas de Brayton, the king's clerk, to whom Thomas de Morle had transferred it. Richard de Wylughby [Feet of F. Surr. 21 Edw. III, no. 2] acquired a mill in Beddington from Walter de Kenele in 1347. In 1352 Richard and Elizabeth had licence to lease the manor for life to Nicholas Carew, [Pat. 26 Edw. III, pt. i, m. 7] who, according to the pedigree of the Carew family formerly preserved at Beddington and printed by Manning and Bray, [Hist. of Surr. ii, 523] married their daughter Lucy widow of Thomas Huscarl. "Nicholas de Carew was a person of considerable talent. In 1362, he was one of the knights of the shire for Surrey; and in 1372, he was made keeper of the privey seal, by Edward III, who likewise appointed him one of his executors. He died 1391 or 14 Richard II. By his will, dated at Beddington in 1387, he directed that his body should be interred between the grave of his brother John and the south door of the church of St. Mary at Beddington.

Nicholas Carew, the ancestor of the Bedington line, was third son of Sir Nicholas Carew of Devonshire by Amicia, the sister and heir of John Peverell of Ermington. This Nicholas Carew was made keeper of the privy-seal, 27 Jul 45 Edw. III and had free warren granted him in the villages of Croydon, Bedington, and other places in Surry, and Berks, and his son was knight of the Shire for Surry in 1 Richard II.

Nicholas Carew married Lucía, daughter and heir of Richard Willeby and widow of Sir Thomas Hurscarle. Nicholas died 5h3 4th of Sep in the 9 Hen VI leaving a son also named Nicholas, who in his father's life-time served in the voyage into France.

Nicholas married Lucía Willoughby, daughter of Sir Richard de Willoughby Knight, Chief Justice of King's Bench and Isabel Mortein ^927,1259.^,1267 (Lucía Willoughby was born about 1335 in Beddington, Croydon, Surrey, England.)
