• Name. 141 None of Thomas l'Arcedekne's descendants were ever summoned to Parliament in respect of this Barony. His son and heir, Sir John l'Arcedekne, of Ruan Lanihorne, aged 25 and more at his father's death, had livery of his lands 15 Sep 1331. He was summoned to a Council 25 Feb 1341/2. He served in the French wars 1345. He had pardon 6 Nov 1351 and again 26 May 1352, for having escaped from Launceston Castle, where he had been imprisoned.
Sir John l'Arcedekne, by Papal disposition dated 23 Dec 1327, being within the 4th degree of consanguinity, Cecily, daughter and heir of Jordan Haccombe, of Haccombe, Devon, by Isabel, daughter of Mauger de St. Aubin. She was living in 1365. He was living 30 Oct 1371 and d. before 21 Dec 1377. His will was proved at Clyst 27 Jan 1390/1.
