Underage in 1449, he died 7 Oct 1464, seized of the manors of Modbury, Dodbroke and Bridford, with the advowson of the church of Dodbroke, held of John Champernon, of Beer Ferrers (IPM 5 Edw. IV, no. 12 (2)). In his will of 6 Oct 1464, proved 24 Nov 1464, he named his wife, Elizabeth, his son, John, and his brother Thomas, (PCC Wills Godyn 7.) He was married to Elizabeth Chuderlegh, daughter of John Chuderlegh (DCNQ, 14: 218-221). Children: 28. Sir John Champernoun, born 1458, being aged 6 at the death of his father; died 30 Apr 1503 at Ashton Rohant, Oxfordshire (IPM 23 Hen. VII, no. 86). m. Margaret, daughter of Sir Philip Courtenay, of Molland.
