Roger de Toeni, the third, was eldest son and heir of Roul IV de Toeni and Alice. He succeeded his father in about 1126, and in 1131, he attested to King Henry I's pancarte confirming all grants of his ancestors and himself and others to the abbey of Conches. In 1135, the King suspected that he was preparing to rebel, so together with William Talvas, Count of Ponthieu, on behalf of Henry's son-in-law, Geoffrey Plantagenęt, and sent soldiers to garrison the castle of Conches. After the King's death, Roger supported Empress Maude and her husband Geoffrey against Stephen. Fighting took place, until Roger was ambushed and captured by Count Waleran and Henry de l Pommeraye. He land was taken and he was imprisoned for more than six months. He was released in 1137. By 1138, peace was made between him and the twins Waleran, Count of Meulan and Robert, Earl of Leicester. They took him to England so her could reconcile with King Stephen. After Henry became King, Roger enjoyed the royal favor, for between Michalmas 1157 and Michalmas 1158, the King granted him 100 solidates of land at Lokham, Norfolk.
Roger was married to Ida, daughter of Baldwin III, comté de Hainault, by Yoland, daughter of Gerard, comté de Guelders. He died after Michalmas 1157, but before 1162.
