Idonnea de Boydell
- Marriage: Helto de Boydell 1130
- Died: after 1212
Information about this person:
• Background Information. 1130 Evidence that Idonnea was the heir of Osboern Fitz Tezzon comes from the Texta de Nevill for Lincolnshire, p. 332, which reads "De Idonea de Boydele VI libras de tribus feodis quo tenet de codem. Et idem Comes de domino Rege in capite in Neubel et Maydenwll." Idonea would probably not be in possession of the fees if she were not a heiress, but rather a widow or wife. She inherited the three fees in Newbolt and Maydenwell, gave lands in Newbolt to Bullinton and gave the Church at Hanley in Cheshire to St. Werburg.
As shown by charters, Idonea and Helton de Boidel had three sons: Hugh de Boidel, alive 4 Ric. I when he confimred Pulton, Bebington, Apilton and Hull to Robert Lancelyn for two knights fees; Alan de Boidel, gave the church of Dodleston, and confirmed that of Hanley to St. Webury, and gave the manor of Dodleston his his brother William de Boidel; and William de Boidel.
