William de Erdington
Information about this person:
• Background Information. 1115 According Domesday, "Hardintone" was estimated at three hides valued at xxx.s., having a mill rated at jjjs.; woods containing one mile in length, and a half a mile in breadth. Fitz-Ausculf granted the manor to a kinsman, who assumed the name of Erdington. He built a residence, which was strongly fortified. Here Henry de Erdington's descendants resided for nearly four hundred years. This Sir Henry de Erynton died about 1165, and was succeeded by his son, William, of whom nothing definite is known.
