• Background Information. 805 Joan or Jan, and sometimes called Joceline, second wife of Sir Robert le Grosvenor, was the daughter of Sir Robert de Pulford, lord of Pulford, in the county of Chester, Knight, (who was living in 1348, when Sir James Audley was Sheriff of tat country). She was also the widow of Thomas Belgrave, and heir to her brother, John, son and heir to her father, Robert, by dame Jane his wife, who after his death, took Richard de Bossely for her second husband. The said Sir Robert de Pulford was the son of Sir Robert, lord of Pulford who was alive in 1308, and this Sir Robert was another son of Sir Robert de Pulford, lord of Pulford, who was with King Edward I in the wars fof Scotland.
