Ralph held divers manors in Nottinghamsire and Derbyshire, and is the direct ancestor of all later Lord Byrons. In Notthinghamshire, at the time of the Domesday survey (20 William I), he held the manors of Oscintune, Calun, Hochehale, Rampestune, Lamcote and Cotesgrave. In Derbyshire, he held the manors of westune, Horsle, Denebi, Halun and Hereby. In the park of Horseley there was a castle called Horestan-castle, which was the chief mansion of his successors.

The Byrons, of Clayton and Rochdale, Lancashire, and Newstead Abbey, Notts, are descended from Ralph de Buron, who at the time of the Conquest and the Doomsday survey, held divers manors in Notts and Derbyshire.
