Alfonso II was the second son of Alfonso II de Aragon and Sancha de Castile. In 1193, Alfonso married Gersenda II of Sabran, daughter of Rainou, Count of Forcalquier and Gersend of Forcalquier. They had a child who became Ramon Berenguer V as count of Provence.
Alfonso married Gersinde de Sabran, daughter of Rainou de Sabran Comte de Forcalquier and Gersinde de Forcalquier. (Gersinde de Sabran was born about 1180 and died about 1257.)
