John de Byron married, as his first wife, Lady Joan, daughter of Sir Baldwin Teutonick or Thies, the widow of Sir Robert Holland, Knight (son of John, son of Ingelram de Holland, of Holland Lancashire). Sir Baldwin Tays was the secretary to Thomas, Earl of Lancaster. John de Byron had in marriage with her, been given from Sir Balwin, all his lands in Rochdale, Lancashire.
