• Background Information. 405 Galfridus de Staunton, son of Malgerus, temp. William the Conqueror, gave lands in Kelum to the monastery of Rufford, which King Stephen confirmed. He espoused Beatrice de Muschamp, and was the grandfather of Sir. William de Staunton.
