Nicolás Durán was sheriff of the Councio in 1642. He was mentioned in 1663 as being an "aide" to Governor Peñalosa, and having a wife and children in Santa Fé. He was not alive by 1680, but from the marriage of daughter, Catalina, we learn that his widow's name was Antonia Trujillo.

Antonia married Nicolás Durán, son of Juan Durán and Catalina Bernal.252 (Nicolás Durán was born about 1626 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España and died before 1680 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España 252.)
